Our Story

Turning Stares Into Understanding, and Challenges Into Opportunities.

If you’ve ever been out in public with a child who sees the world differently, you know the feeling—the stares, the whispers, the looks of confusion or judgment.

We know that feeling, too.

We’re the parents of Ethan, an incredible boy with Low White Brain Matter, Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, and other challenges. But more than any diagnosis, Ethan is strong, joyful, and full of life—and like all kids, he deserves every opportunity to explore, experience, and thrive.

Over the years, we’ve faced the struggles of navigating school systems, advocating for resources, managing public reactions, and making sure Ethan never feels limited by what others perceive as obstacles.

But we’ve also witnessed extraordinary moments of growth, love, and resilience, both in Ethan and in our family.

And we realized—we’re not alone.

There are countless families walking a similar path, each with their own unique challenges, victories, and stories to tell. But too often, these stories go unheard, and the families behind them feel unseen.

That’s why we created Beyond the Stares.

This platform isn’t just about our journey—it’s about building a community where families of children with disabilities can share, learn, and find hope together. It’s about shifting perspectives and showing the world that children like Ethan aren’t defined by their conditions—they’re defined by their limitless potential.

Through our podcast, YouTube channel, social platforms, and community engagement, we share practical advice, real-life experiences, and meaningful connections to help families:

✅ Discover new ways to travel and experience the world together
✅ Navigate school systems and advocate for their child’s needs
✅ Build a supportive network of parents who “get it”
✅ Find once-in-a-lifetime experiences through partnerships with sports teams, brands, and organizations
✅ Turn stares into understanding, and judgment into awareness

Yes, we’ve experienced the stares. But instead of letting them define us, we choose to look beyond them—and we invite you to do the same.

Welcome to our community. Welcome to Beyond the Stares.
